Glen A. Hummel, is currently Principal Trumpet with the Plano and Irving Symphonies. He also performs with the Fort Worth Symphony, several brass ensembles and various chamber groups. Glen received a Bachelor of Music degree from Indiana University and has pursued Masters work at the University of North Texas. While at UNT, Glen played in the One O’clock Lab Band. His solo appearances include the Plano and Irving Symphonies, Classic Brass, Richland College Jazz Ensemble, the Dixie River Kings and the Imperial Brass. Glen performs regularly with Big Thought, an organization focused on increasing students’ appreciation of the fine arts, as well as being a part of the Plano ISD Symphony visits program. He currently plays over 200 services annually – everything from symphonic music to jazz to Broadway shows and religious festivals.
In his free time Glen enjoys soccer and woodworking. Glen and his wife Susan just celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary. They have two daughters: Molly, a nurse and Anna, a sophomore at La Tourneau University.
